What it is:
Flight Plans is a program we’ve developed to help create and launch individual men’s small-groups, or “bands of brothers”. A Flight Plan starts at ATG, continues at sponsoring local church, and finishes with the formation of one or more bands of brothers. We will have instructors at ATG taking sign-ups for anyone man with a desire to be part of a band of brothers. The ATG instructors will using questions from John Eldredge’s “Wild at Heart” series. We also encourage churches to host their own Flight Plan. It’s a simple and effective way to get men into their own bands of brothers.
How it works:
In a nutshell, it goes like this: (1) sign up at ATG, (2) go through a Flight Plan, and (3) transition into a small group.
A Flight Plan consists of a short meeting once a week for four weeks. During a Flight Plan, the instructor will guide the men through a sample men’s study. Each week, after the introduction, there will be an interactive question-and-answer time for guys to interact and get to know each other. As the Flight Plan wraps up on Week 4, new group leaders will volunteer from the men attending and take over from there. The men will transition into their own small group, choosing where and when to meet, and what study material to use–either the Wild at Heart material used at during the Flight Plan or selecting their own.
How to sign up:
Stop by the Flight Plan booth at the Awaken the Giant conference, where we will have several instructors hosting in different areas of the Central Coast. Every man will have the opportunity to sign up for a Flight Plan of his choice.
How to host a Flight Plan:
We need the support of Central Coast churches to make this a wide-spread success. We have detailed information for churches and men’s ministry leaders available here: (Download PDF File of Flight Plans)
